Assignment 0: Introduction

Due: as soon as possible.

1. Subscribe to the electronic mail list by clicking on the MailingList button at the left and following the directions under the heading “Subscribing to cs633.” You will receive an email confirmation. You must reply to this before you are fully subscribed to the list.

2. Send the professor an email message with answers to the following questions.
   1. What is your programming background? Rate yourself as beginner, medium, or advanced in each of the languages you have learned.
   2. What do you hope to take away from this course?
   3. What are your impressions from the first lecture? (What did you learn? How could the format be improved?)
   4. Browse the syllabus. Are there any topics you would add or delete?
   5. Read the syllabus thoroughly. Assuming that you fail to turn in one assignment, compute the highest score (percentage) you could possibly receive in the course—even if your exams are flawless.
   6. What are your goals, career or otherwise?
   Feel free to add any other relevant comments.
